PLUTO used student voice to empower teachers. The project's goals were enhancing effective teaching and learning in Science in secondary schools.
Emphasis has been to empower young Maori learners with increased engagement in science. We encourage students to deeply engage with science learning through collaboration and relevance! We are keen to work with teachers who see teaching as inquiry, and are actively seeking and using different pedagogical approaches in their science classrooms (see NZC, 2007, p.34-35).

We would like to thank all the teachers in the project, we couldn't have done this without you! Professor Darrell Fisher for his wise and helpful support in the research. Jane Barnett who has always believed in our vision and continually supported us in many ways.
Thank you for an amazing journey.
